Los Osos Neighborhoods

One of the things that makes Los Osos special is that every neighborhood has its own personality. Whether you're looking for walkability, waterfront access, panoramic ocean views, larger lots, or a quiet residential street, choosing the right neighborhood can be just as important as choosing the right home.

Baywood Park

Baywood Park is the social heart of Los Osos. Centered around the waterfront, it's home to many of the town's favorite restaurants, coffee shops, boutique hotels, and local businesses. It's where neighbors gather for brunch, launch kayaks into the bay, or enjoy an evening stroll along the waterfront.

Cuesta by the Sea

Cuesta by the Sea is one of Los Osos' most eclectic neighborhoods. Homes range from original beach cottages to newer custom residences, and while many lots are around 4,000 square feet, you'll also find larger parcels throughout the neighborhood.

One of its defining features is the Cuesta Inlet, where residents launch kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes directly into Morro Bay. Some streets remain unpaved, preserving the relaxed coastal character that many longtime residents appreciate.

Sea Pines, Monarch Grove & Sunset Terrace

The neighborhoods surrounding Sea Pines Golf Resort combine coastal living with a strong sense of community. During the warmer months, Concerts on the Green bring neighbors together almost every Saturday evening for live music, dancing, and one of Los Osos' favorite local traditions.

Cabrillo Estates

Perched above the coastline, Cabrillo Estates offers some of the most spectacular ocean and bay views on the Central Coast. Many homes enjoy panoramic views of Morro Rock, the estuary, the Pacific Ocean, and the surrounding hills, making it one of Los Osos' premier neighborhoods.

Redfield Woods

Redfield Woods is known for its convenient location and easy access to schools, shopping, restaurants, and outdoor recreation. Residents also enjoy quick access to the Broderson Trail, one of the gateways into the Irish Hills Natural Reserve.

El Moro (The Numbered Streets)

Known locally as The Numbered Streets, El Moro makes up much of Los Osos. The neighborhood features a mix of single-family homes, duplexes, and multifamily properties. Because the community was built across rolling coastal dunes, some streets end unexpectedly at hillsides rather than connecting straight through—one of the many quirks that gives Los Osos its unique charm. Several unpaved roads still remain, adding to the town's laid-back character.

Bayview Heights

Located in southeastern Los Osos, Bayview Heights is known for its larger lots, quieter streets, and elevated location. Ask longtime residents where the sun comes out first, and many will tell you it's Bayview Heights. Whether that's neighborhood pride or reality, there's no denying this area enjoys a reputation for some of the nicest weather in town.
